How much does it cost?

The service is free.  You may purchase and pick up two recycling bins at the Waste Management office for $10 each.  Call  970-879-2400, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., for directions to their office.

What is collected?

Bin # 1
  • Newspaper - Everything you find in the Sunday paper can be recycled as newspaper.  This includes advertisements, coupons, and inserts.  Please do not tie or bundle papers
  • Magazines - All magazines and catalogs are accepted.  No phone books, however.
  • Corrugated Cardboard - All waxless, corrugated, cardboard boxes.  Even pizza boxes are okay providing leftover pizza has been removed.  Cereal and shoe box type cardboard is not accepted.
Bin #2
  • Tin/Steel Cans - These include vegetable, fruit, soup, and coffee cans.  Please rinse.  The lids can be recycled, but they do not bundle well at the processing facility if they are left loose.  Try placing lids inside the steel can and pinching the opening closed.  Otherwise, please the discard lids.
  • Aluminum - Please rinse and do not crush the cans.
  • Plastic - #1 and #2 type plastic bottles only.  These include most soft drink, milk, juice, detergent and shampoo bottles.  Look for the recycling emblem on the bottom of the container.  If a container has the correct number, but is a bucket or a tub, it cannot be accepted.  Examples of these would be margarine, yogurt, and berry containers.  Please remove all lids.  No oil, pesticide, antifreeze, or other hazardous materials containers.
  • Glass - Any color of glass is accepted. Please rinse.  No window glass, drinking glasses, ceramics, Pyrex, or light bulbs can be accepted.
